STR1 Stargazer, also known as Metal Mass Detector, is a detection system that provides relay output according to the density of the metal mass overcoming it. Generally, in parking applications; it is used to detect the presence of a vehicle on the asphalt in automatic opening and closing of barriers or automatic ticket cutting systems.
The system works by connecting several turns of wires laid in the ground to the detector board. As a result of this connection, an electromagnetic field is created on the ground. Changes in the field are detected when a metal object (e.g. a vehicle) enters this area and a relay output is generated accordingly.
In this way, the presence of the vehicle is reliably detected and data is provided to automation systems.
